Archer Modern Presents: The Paintings Of Benjamin Abramowitz



Opening Reception for Undiscovered Color: The Paintings of Benjamin Abramowitz (1960-1970) is from 6-10pm tonight at Archer Modern.

A prolific artist with a career spanning seven decades, Benjamin Abramowitz (1917 – 2011) devoted a lifetime to art. A master artist in painting, sculpture, and works on paper, Abramowitz began working in New York City. Early talents were evident in his first solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum of Art (1936) at the young age of 16. Abramowitz’s work is held in numerous prestigious institutions including the Met, The Phillips Collection, Baltimore Museum of Art, Howard University, Smithsonian Institution.
